How to grow longer eyelashes

I’ll never forget the day I found out I had imperfect eyelashes. Halfway through beauty school classmate said (ever so loudly) “You have the shortest, stubbiest eyelashes. It’s almost like you don’t have lashes at all. First of all, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. Second, I was well aware that I had short lashes. No need to scream it from the rooftops.

Over the years I tried many things to have longer eyelashes. Fake eyelashes attached with glue. They looked beautiful, but the glue was beastly to remove, and my eye swelled shut at one point after wearing them. Not a great look for a date, I’d rather have short eyelashes. I tried magnetic eyelashes and they were even worse. Very uncomfortable and they always felt as though they were waiting for the perfect time to fly off my eye at any moment. Lastly I tried eyelash extensions. They required constant appointments for upkeep, and the glue used was so irritating to my eyes. My eye dr had me remove the extensions, and my lashes were shorter and stubbier than ever.

I started to study and read about how to grow longer eyelashes. I knew there must be a natural way to grow eyelashes. Although some women are clearly gifted with beautiful lashes, there are some easy things that we can do when trying to figure out how to get longer eyelashes naturally.

  1. Treat your lashes gently and use products that are not extremely difficult to remove. Mascara that isn’t waterproof is much easier to delicately clean off at the end of the evening. Using a cleanser removes makeup without harsh chemicals will also encourage lash growth and health. I always choose clean beauty brands because the ingredients leave my hair, skin and eyelashes hydrated, supple and in better shape than their synthetic counterparts.

  2. Find an effective eyelash serum. I read all the eyelash serum reviews, and chose several to try. Latisse Eyelash serum is very popular and many people love it, but it can also potentially cause a permanent darkening of light eye colors. I wanted to keep my light hazel eyes, so Latisse Eyelash Growth Serum was out. After testing several other serums, I tried Plume Science clean eyelash serum. I had very low expectations as I was not convinced that Plume Eyelash Serum could possibly work as well as something like a Latisse prescription, but I was pleasantly surprised by the results. I started getting compliments on my eyes at the end of the first month of use. I snapped a quick photo to compare my results, and was shocked at how much better my lashes looked after only 24 days of use.

I’ll be updating my results with photos at the 60, as well as 90 day marks. I can’t wait to see what my lashes look like after 90 consecutive days of use. I daresay that hair school Eileen might even agree that I now have eyelashes after all. I’m especially happy that I have no irritation from this product. I am so sensitive to chemicals and fragrance, and this product does not bother my eyes or skin in anyway. If you’d like to try Plume’s lash serum, use code Megan15 for 15 percent off.
