Best Brown Hair Color for Winter
At the salon, I have the good fortune to be visited by one gorgeous client after another. Although Boston is a lovely a scenic city, we do seem to spend almost half of the year buried in winter weather. The days are short, cold and gloomy and many of my clients come in trying to find the best brown hair color for winter. Many people think that they need to go darker for the winter months, but I think that winter is the time where we tend to need a little more softness and warmth. Last week I was visited by one of my favorite clients. She's a busy hairstylist, and a mom to a young child. She wanted something that will make her look her best, but that will also be fairly easy to maintain as she doesn't have the time to be in the salon every four weeks. When she sat down at her last appointment her hair had grown in quite and bit, and the sharp dark color of her natural hair created too much contrast against her pale skin. She a beautiful woman, but hair color that was too dark for her skin was bringing every flaw to the forefront and not giving her skin the glow that we all try to acheive. During the appointment I placed soft, golden caramel highlights throughout her hair, concentrating slightly more around the face frame to give her the sun kissed look that children have after a sandy summer playing in the saltwater. In between I wove in a few rich, chocolate brown lowlights to keep the contrast in her hair. As the foils were processing I lifted her base color by half a shade to make the overall shade just a bit softer and lighter against her skin. The final step? A ten minute glaze to add shine and condition, and an olaplex treatment. The end result was stunning. Definitelythe best brown hair color for winter. A shiny, natural warm brunette color that couldn't have been any more perfect with her skin. If you'd like to find out your perfect shade, call the salon to book an appointment with me. 617.236.8100.
